Clashes erupt between activists of two groups over Madrasa syllabus

Belthangady: Activists of the Samasta Kerala Sunni Students Federation and Sunni Students Federation took to weapons on Tuesday night, after a heated argument broke out between the two groups on account of differences over Madrasa syllabus near Paddandadka mosque near Venoor here.

It is gathered that both the groups have been at loggerheads with each other for some time now over the issue of Madrasa syllabus and on Tuesday, the groups reportedly resorted to the use of swords to settle scores.

In their complaint filed at Venoor police station, Arif, Muzammil, and Shabbir – activists of one group alleged that they were assaulted by members of the other group and a case stands registered against Shariff Gandhinagara, Ashraf Gandhinagara, Basheer Gandhinagara, Rahim Peradi, U K Mohammed, and Shabbir in this regards. Meanwhile, the other group also lodged a counter complaint with the Venoor police and investigations are on.
