Mangaluru: Urging to take appropriate measures to shut down massage parlours, pub and skill game centres in the city, the members of Om Shree Durga Association, in collaboration with Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha organised a protest meeting in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday, September 21.
Addressing the protesters Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha president Sudatt Jain said, ”the labour department should ensure employment to the youth. It is necessary that the officials in the labour department communicate with the working people politely. However, the labour department is neither communicating with the working class nor are they provide any information about the government facilities, meant for them,” he lamented.

Even teenage students fall victim to the skill games. Hence, stringent action should be taken against this illegal functioning of skill games, massage parlours and pubs. Labour department should stop exploiting the working class people,” she said.
Meanwhile, protesters set fire on the effigy of the labour department and shouted slogans against the officials of the labour department.
