Bantwal: “The state government is responsible for the implementation of the Kasturi Rangan report,” said MP Naleen Kumar Kateel

He was addressing the media at the BC Road party office on Wednesday after hearing the grievances of public and interacting with them.

He said that states like Kerala, Gujarat and Goa have submitted a survey report against the implementation of the Kasturi Rangan report in their states to the centre. But Karnataka state has not yet submitted a report and neither the CM nor the Minister for Forest seems to be bothered about the same.

The Centre will present its stand on Kasturi Rangan report before the Supreme Court on September 9. After this, if the report is implemented in the state then the present state government and its lethargic attitude will be responsible for the same, said the MP.

It is the grievance of the people that their elected representatives are available to them only during elections. Even in the case of farmer’s suicide in the state, the CM hasn’t taken any responsibility in taking the issue to the centre. They only have the BBMP elections in their agenda.

However, proving this longstanding allegation wrong, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has been meeting people to hear their grievances.

Kateel said, “There is no need for my people to come in search of me to Mangaluru. Instead, I will come to meet them and in this direction, I have decided to spend three hours once a month at a party office and hear out people’s grievances.

He also intimated to the media that a lot of public grievances and petitions have come to his attention and added that he intends to schedule separate days to visit the various rural areas and government offices to address these issues.

Development of Service Roads:

In order to develop the service road which goes from B C Road to Surathkal, the central government has granted Rs 24 crore, he said and added that the tender is being processed.

Former MLA Rukamaya Poojary, BJP leaders Padmanabha Kottari, Rajesh Naik, Ulipady Guthu, G Ananda, Devadas Shetty, Dinesh Bhandary, Ramdas Bantwal, Chennappa Kotian, Dinesh Amtur, Ananda Shambur, Devappa Poojary, Govinda Prabhu were present.
