Collapse at under construction commercial complex leaves two dead

Puttur: Two laborers were killed when mud caved in at an under-construction building site in Puttur on Tuesday, April 24.

The incident occured near Anita Oil Mills building located near KSRTC bus stand here. Around four people were trapped in the debris. While two persons were rescued immediately and rushed to a hospital, the other two persons died at the spot. 

The deceased are Padmanabha (35), from Jalligudde from Mangalore and Shivu from Adavibavi, Koppal. The injured are Mahantesh and Yahswanth from Kushtagi of Koppal.

The condition of the two injured is said to be serious.

Several of the laborers working at the site hail from Uttara Karnataka region and the builder is said to have not taken any precautionary measures required at the construction site.
