Puttur: A case of communal hatred was witnessed by students and lectures in Uppinangadi Government College on Wednesday, January 4. The incident occurred when a boy and girl from two different communities spoke to each other and a few students of the girl’s community had a problem with it.
The students who noticed the boy and girl talking picked up a fight with the boy and got ready to assault him. Just them, students of the boy’s community rushed to the scene and stopped the assault. Arguments and fights went on between the two gangs before the college management called the police.
The police came to the spot and got the situation under control with lathi charge. The students involved in the fight were asked to write and sign an undertaking stating that they will never involve in such activities.
