Complete lockdown in DK on July 19, Milk products to be made available

Mangaluru: Reeling under the increasing COVID cases, the DK district, which is under lockdown for one week with concession between 8 am and 11 am for procuring provisions and essentials, will go for a total lockdown on Sunday, July 19. 

Information from the district administration states that only emergency services will be available on Sunday. The total lockdown will be in force from 11 am on Saturday, July 18, untill 8 am on Monday, July 20. The vehicular movement will also be fully restricted. 

On Friday, the district recorded a whopping 311 new COVID positive cases. The district administration, in an effort to control the spread of the disease, is making all efforts and the total lockdown is part of their efforts to meet their goals.

Milk and milk products to be made available

The Dakshina Kannada Milk Union, in a press release, informed that Nandini milk and milk products will continue to be available at all regular outlets between 8 am to 11 am on Sunday. Even though July 19 has been declared as total lockdown day, milk is allowed to be supplied as an essential needs item and so, the services will be made available, the statement read.
