Bantwal: The confusion over Adhar card continued on Saturday here at Taluk office in Bantwal as students and parents protested in front of Adhar centre at APMC office in B C Road.

Adhar cardThe students who came early in the morning for the Adhar card registration were not provided necessary information by the Adhar centre staff at the Taluk office. After the Adhar card was made mandatory to apply for scholarships, students along with their parents were seen rushing to the Taluk office. Two days ago a meeting was held in connection with this issue but no decision was taken. Students were confused as the officers too did not provide any information regarding this to the schools and colleges. Students skipped classes on Saturday and went to the APMC office along with their parents.

Zilla Panchayath Vice president Tungappa Bangera arrived to the office discussed the issue with the Tahshildar. The latter in reply said that extra centers have been opened to solve the issue and a token facility has also been started. The students and parents who were not satisfied with his response continued the protest.

Later protesters urged Assistant commissioner Dr Ashok who arrived at the spot to solve the problem at the earliest. He assured those protesting that he would discuss the issue at the district level with DC and provide Adhar cards in every school.

Though the protest came to an end after having received assurance from the Assistant commissioner, the confusion over the Adhar card continued.
