Mangaluru: With false information being circulated on social networking sites, fuelling more and more confusion with regard to the quarantine period for foreign returnees, District Health Officer has issued an official statement.
The DHO has stated that all foreign returnees will have to undergo a compulsory 14-day quarantine, which includes, seven days of institutional quarantine and seven days of home quarantine.
Here, when the returnees are in institutional quarantine, their samples will be collected and tested. They will be forwarded for home quarantine only if the test results are negative.
However, the tests of children below 10 years of age, senior citizens, pregnant women and those suffering from any other health issues is conducted the very next day of them reporting for institutional quarantine.
They are then sent for 14 days of home quarnatine, only if their results are negative.
