Mangaluru: Congress takes the issue of the poverty only when they face election and they forget it soon after, alleged Bharatiya Janata Party’s Spokesperson Malavika Avinash.
Addressing the reporters at BJP’s election office on Thursday, April 11, Malavika said,” Congress started the ‘Garibi Hatavo’ slogan in the year 1971 but it never succeeded in removing poverty even though they ruled the country for nearly seven decades. Now, Congress has promised to scrap Sedition Act, which is very dangerous for the country”, she said.
Malavika said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s report card on his developmental works for the country was the main theme of BJP’s poll campaign.”Mangaluru Lok Sabha constituency’s Nalin Kumar Kateel has done several developmental works for the entire district, which is enough to fetch him success in this election”, she said.
Coming down heavily on Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Malavika said, “The state government has proposed to withdraw a total of 142 cases, pertaining to heinous crimes, including Ulaibettu communal riots. By withdrawing the cases on minority community members only, what message is the state government giving to the society?”, she questioned.
BJP leaders Monappa Bhandary, Pooja Pai, Prabha Malini and Dhanalakshmi Gatti were present.
