Kasargod: Two youths have been arrested in connection with the murder of Youth Congress worker Mattannur Shuhaib.
The accused are identified as Tallangeri Akash (23) and Rijan Raj (24).
According to the police, the duo was also booked in the murder of RSS activist Vishnu in Tallangeri. Rijin is also an accused in the murder of Vinish.
On February 18, both theaccused surrendered at Maalooru Police Station in the presence of CPI(M) leader.
But Congress has alleged that those surrendered were not real culprits. “To mislead the investigation CPI(M) is playing a drama. CPI(M) leaders had hatched a conspiracy to murder Shuhaib and also attempted to destroy the evidences”, Congress alleged.
CPI(M) and theruling LDF are making efforts to protect the accused. If the “real accused” are not arrested, Congress has warned of massive protest.
