Mangaluru: Congress candidate and Minister Ramanath Rai, who assured to keep away communal elements has struck an understanding with SDPI and paid crores in dowry for the expansive “Nikah”, alleged Harikrishana Bantwal, District Spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The understanding was struck well in advance, when Hindu activists were killed in the region and the cases against PFI and SDPI activists were withdrawn, Bantwal alleged.
The British always wanted Hindus, Muslims and Christians to be apart and thrived on a fragmented society and the present day Congress is following the same yardstick, he said. Muslims have to come out of those clutches, said Bantwal casting a net to woo large section of Muslim voters in the constituency.
If Congressmen were to follow the principles they propagate (Nudidanthe Nade), was there a need for them to share the loot amassed through illegal sand mining, timber trade and transfers effected during the Congress rule with SDPI?, Bantwal questioned.
Wherever Congress President Rahul Gandhi steps in, the party tastes defeat and with him visiting Bantwal Assembly Constituency, Minister Rai’s downfall is certain, Harikrishna Bantwal claimed.
