With the Lok Sabha elections on the horizon, the government has announced conventions for beneficiaries of five guarantee schemes in Dakshina Kannada, scheduled to take place from March 7. District administrations have been instructed to make necessary arrangements, including tra nsportation facilities, for beneficiaries attending taluk-level conventions in Puttur, Mulki, Mangaluru, Belthangady, Ullal, Sullia, Kadaba, and Moodbidri between March 7 and 10.
District Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, who chaired a review meeting on the schemes’ implementation, highlighted the conventions’ significance in providing a platform for beneficiaries to express their opinions. He praised the government’s successful implementation of these unprecedented schemes, which have significantly alleviated the burden on the people, bringing happiness into their lives.
The conventions are scheduled as follows: Puttur, Mulki, and Mangaluru taluks on March 7; Belthangady, Bantwal, and Ullal taluks on March 9; and Sullia, Kadaba, and Moodbidri taluks on March 10. Rao mentioned that separate counters will be available for beneficiaries not on the list to register for the schemes. Additionally, grievances of current beneficiaries will be addressed at the convention. All taluks will make necessary arrangements for these meetings, and prominent figures like Speaker UT Khader, Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai, and MLC Harish Kumar were present at the review meeting along with other officials.
