Conversion case: 8 acquitted by Court

Puttur: A Court here has acquitted eight persons who were charged of converting the Hindus to their religion.

The V Additional District Court acquitted T Sebastian, K Varghese, M Thomas, S Babu, V Baby, T Joseph, T Alexander and T James.

As per complaint, it was said that the group had gone door-to-door in Balya village in 2007, influencing people to change faith.

The Kadaba police who registered the case, filed the charge sheet later. The 5th additional district court, which held the trial, has now acquitted all the accused and pronounced them as innocent.

Nirmal Kumar Jain, Sheenappa Gowda Baithadka, and Monappa were the advocates for the accused.
