Mangaluru: COVID-19 has gripped the world and keeping this fear in mind, the Coast Guard Karnataka took initiatives to create awareness among their personnel, civilian staff and families.
To alert and educate the coast guard personnel, they swung into action and are taking measures to keep their staff and their kin informed about the same.
Posters reading precautions to be taken to prevent the virus from spreading have been put up on prominent spots of office premises and residential areas including the CG KG school.
All CG staff and their families were advised to frequently wash their hands with soap and water at regular intervals. The staff have also been requested to cover their nose and mouth with handkerchief or tissue when coughing and sneezing.
As a precautionary measure, coast guard personnel have been advised to consult doctor if they have fever, difficulty in breathing or sneezing.
It is also advised to consult doctor if there is fever, difficulty in breathing, coughing or if there is any other symptoms of coronavirus.
In order to create awareness, video clips, which are issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare are also being played on Televisions for the benefit of the coast guard personnel.
Since last three days, as part of health education and awareness programme, COVID-19 campaign has been started by distributing pamphlets and educative materials.
