Ullal: A wedding in Ullal was called off as the groom, who works on a Hong Kong cruise ship, was unable to return for the ceremony which was scheduled to be held on February 10.
Owing to the coronavirus scare, Gaurav, the groom was not able to return to his hometown.
It can be recalled that several cruise ships near China have been detained due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Gaurav, son of late Madhava Bangera and Sharada, has been stranded on one of these cruise ships for the past three days. He was initially supposed to return to India on February 6.
According to sources, his marriage was scheduled to be held at the St. Sebastian Platinum Auditorium Hall, Bendur, on February 10.
On January 16, a total of 1,600 people began their journey from China and visited Malaysia and Singapore, before arriving in Hong Kong on February 4.
Following the Coronavirus outbreak, all those who are on board the ship have been detained on the vessel and have kept under close observation. Gaurav had called home to inform his family that he is safe.
