Belthangady: In a tragic incident, four members of a family were found dead in a lake near their residence at Kokkada on Wednesday. One more member of the family who has gone missing is now feared dead.
The deceased are Babu Gowda (62), Gangamma (55) and their endosulfan effected sons Sadananda (32) and Nityananda (30). It is said that the couple’s youngest son Dayananda has gone missing.
It is suspected that the family may have ended life plunging into the lake as it was evident that they were dejected by the pangs of their life. The sons were suffering from physical and mental disabilities due to the impact of endosulfan and to break out of this unchanging reality the family must have launched a suicide bid, say the locals.
Dharmasthala police have registered a case.
