Mangaluru: The 31-year-old person from Jeppu Patna in Jeppinamogaru village, who was tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday is said to have come from Delhi nearly two weeks ago, giving a slip at every checkpost.

According to the sources, he was working abroad and he landed in Delhi from Dubai before the announcement of lockdown in the country.

However, before he could leave for Mangaluru, the lockdown was imposed and he was forced to stay at a flat in Delhi. Despite restrictions in place, he decided to reach home in Jeppu Patna and since since there were no transport facilities available, he decided to walk his way back home.

After embarking on his journey back home from Delhi, he took the help of motorcyclists, trucks and cars all the way to Mangaluru and avoided all the checkposts from Delhi to Mangaluru.

It is said that when he reached home in Mangaluru, a few days ago, his parents had denied him entry into the house as they forced him to go for a Corona test.

Due to this, he headed to his grandmother’s house nearby. Later, left with no other option, he underwent a Corona test in the city and the result has shown positive.

It is also said that during his two weeks stay in Mangaluru, he met several people in city and also travelled in autorickshaw.

Thus, it has become a big headache for district administration to track his contacts.
