Kasargod: A 21-year-old CPI(M) activist was hacked to death at Sonkal in Uppala here on Sunday late night in an incident, which seems to be a continuation to the ugly episodes of political killings that have been going on in Kerala over the last several years. As per police sources, three BJP members have been booked in connection to the murder.

The deceased is Aboobakar Siddique(21). Reportedly, a gang of bike-borne men attacked Siddique. Though locals rushed the victim to a hospital in Mangalore, Siddique succumbed to injuries. The miscreants had left their bike on the spot after executing the crime.

Aboobakar Siddique who was employed in Qatar had recently come to his native.

Condemning the brutal murder, the CPI(M) has given a call for Haratal in Manjeshwar taluk limits on Monday, August 6.

Kasargod DySP Sukumaran, Kumble circle-inspector Prem Sagar, and Manjeshwar police visited the spot. The dead body has been sent to Periyaram for the post-mortem.
