With less than 24 hours remaining before the commencement of polling for the Lok Sabha elections, preparations are in full swing in Dakshina Kannada (DK) and Udupi districts to ensure a seamless electoral process. On Thursday, April 25, polling officials and personnel assigned to poll duty reported to the mustering and de-mustering centers across both districts.
Mustering and De-Mustering Centers
In Dakshina Kannada district, the mustering and de-mustering activities took place at St Aloysius PU College for Mangaluru North and Canara High School and Higher Primary School Urwa for Mangaluru South constituencies. Similarly, in Udupi, the mustering process commenced at St Cecily’s Institutions Brahmagiri, Danda Theertha Institutions Kaup, Bhandarkar’s Arts and Science College Kundapur, and Kabettu APM First Grade College Karkala.
Voter Statistics
Dakshina Kannada boasts a total of 18,18,127 registered voters, comprising 8,87,122 males, 9,30,928 females, and 77 transgender individuals. The highest concentration of voters is observed in Mangaluru South, with 2,52,643 registered voters.
In Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, there are a total of 15,85,162 registered voters, including 7,68,215 males, 8,16,910 females, and 37 transgender individuals. The highest concentration of voters is observed in Chikkamagaluru, totaling 2,32,210 registered voters.
As the final arrangements are put in place, authorities in both districts are working diligently to ensure that polling proceeds smoothly and efficiently, upholding the democratic process with integrity and transparency.
