Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district administration celebrated Kannada Rajyostava with gaiety and fervor at Nehru Maidan here on Wednesday November.
After receiving the customary Guard of Honour, District in-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai addressed the gathering and said the work of Panje Mangeshraya Memorial Hall with cost of Rs 5 crore will be started soon.
“State government under the ‘Krishi Baghya’ programme has sanctioned Rs.1.40 crore, out of which Rs 29 lakhs have been already spent of agricultural activity. So far 25,775 applications were received for BPL ration card in which 19,468 applications have been reviewed and disposed. Government has given approval to sanction 30 fishing net worth of Rs 10000 for fishermen community. Under 94c programme 82,844 applications were received out of which 75,455 application already been disposed. Under 94CC, 31350 applications have been received, and out of which 13518 applications disposed”, said B Ramanath Rai.
He also said that Under ‘Bidaai’ programme government has spent Rs 13.19 crores for 2639 beneficiaries
During this occasion 15 achievers from various fields received the Kannada Rajyostava award.
The awardees of Kannada Rajyostava are Dr Nandakishore B in the field of medicine, Y Krishna Salian in the field agriculture, Keshava Kundar in the field of Journalism, Bengre Vijay Suvarna in the field of sports, Kotiparava Madavu in the field of culture, Shridhar Holla Kottara in the filed of dance, Kalai Eshwara Poojary in the filed of medicine, KR Natha Konchady in the field of social work, Deviprasad Belthangady in the field of Journalism, K Devadas Bhandary Dombaguddeguttu in the filed of social work, SM Rashid in the field of Education, Ramakrishna Kudroli in the field of sports, BK Monappa Acharya, Baidaguttu in the filed of sculpture, Ashok Bhat N Ujire in the filed of Yakshagana AND Winny Fernandis in the field of Cinema.
