DC sets ‘public centre’ for collection of relief materials for flood victim

Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil on August 17, set up a public centre for the collection of relief materials for victims of the floods in the Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts of Karnataka and also for the state of Kerala. The incessant heavy rains, floods and landslides have devastated these regions and disrupted normal life for the residents.

The relief materials for victims of the floods will be collected at Karnataka Polytechnic College in Kadri.

A team of officials has been deployed to collect relief materials for victims of the floods. The relief materials for victims of the floods will be collected from 9:00 AM to 6:30 pm in the centre.

The relief materials that may be donated are:

1. Bedsheets (New)
2. Carpets
3. Cooking Items (vessels, rice, tea powder, coffee powder, cooking oil packets and salt).
4. Biscuits/Bread
5. Medicines
6. Water Bottles
7. Cloths
8. Towels, Soap, Brush, Toothpaste.
9. Torchlight
10. Notebooks for students
11. Sanitaries
