Moodabidri: Mystery and suspicion now shrouds the death of an SSLC student of a reputed school in Moodabidri, who is also a national-level ball badminton player.
It is said that Kavya, a 15-year-old student was found dead on July 20 and on the same day the school authorities informed Kavya’s parents about the unfortunate development.
However, the parents of Kavya suspect that there may have been foul play in their daughter’s death since Kavya being a sportsperson could have never ended life.
“Our daughter was facing harassment at the hands of certain people in the school. On the unfortunate day, the Physical Education Teacher informed us about the death. By the time we reached the school, the body has been shifted to the mortuary and we were not even allowed to see the dead body properly. We are sure that Kavya was murdered, ” said Baby, Kavya’s grieving mother adding that they want to know the real reason behind the teenager’s death.
Kavya, daughter of Lokesh and Baby, residents of Devara Gudde in Kateel was a badminton champion. She took part in National level competitions as well. The schools physical education teacher had approached the family stating that they will provide free education under sports quota and thus Kavya had joined the school in June.
