Decision soon to relax Covid guidelines in K’taka border areas: CM

Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai arrived at Mangaluru International Airport on Wednesday October 13.

Speaking to media persons here CM said, “Soon after Dasara, we will hold an assessment meeting and then take a call on relaxing the Covid -19 guidelines in border areas. The decision on reopening of primary schools also will be taken.”

Regarding vaccines for children, he informed, “There are certain norms. Once it is finalised, we will come up with vaccination plans for children as well.”

When asked about the rising moral policing cases Bommai said, “Moral policing is a sensitive issue. Society has sentiments and we should see that the same are not hurt. We need to maintain social harmony.”

From Mangaluru, CM will proceed to Udupi.

Deputy Commissioner D. K. V. Rajendra, Energy Minister Sunil Kumar, Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Y. Shetty and others were present.

CM Bommai visited Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple on the occasion of Dasara.

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of his visit to the temple, Bommai said that a proposal to set up CRZ  modelled on those set up in Kerala and Goa has been submitted to Centre. This I am sure will be approved and will further boost tourism in the State, he expressed confidence. Also, I have instructed to develop Karavali Tourism, he added.
