Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) condemned the statement of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for asking the public to rise in revolt against the BJP for trying to destabilise the government and organised a protest meeting in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office on Friday, September 21.
Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Y Shetty urged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to take seek an apology from the public for his comment. He said, “Kumaraswamy has been tensed in the recent days and his call for `rise in revolt against BJP` is the result of his frustration”, he said adding that Kumaraswamy will soon become the former chief minister.
District BJP General Secretary Capt. Brijesh Chowta said, “After the coalition government came to power, there is no development in our state. Janata Dal (S) and Congress formed a government only to defeat Narendra Modi. Being the chief minister of a state, Kumaraswamy needs to possess some ethics”, he said.
Sullia MLA S Angara blamed the coalition government saying that it had failed to do any development works and maintain law and order in the state. In order to stay in power, Kumaraswamy has asked the public to revolt against BJP, he said and urged him to take back his words.
