Mangaluru: The District Information officer has decided to lodge a complaint with the police department after the Deputy Commissioner’s order was twisted by morphing a government order copy.

On August 9, following heavy rainfall in the district, the Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil had declared a holiday for Primary, High Schools and Pre-University Colleges for Saturday, August 10. In this regard, the information department had issued DC’s order on its letterhead stating that DC declared a holiday on Saturday, August 10. Hours after the information department issued the order, the copy was morphed by twisting the DC order and circulated it in the social media.

Due to misleading information, several parents, school administrations and children were confusions. Unfortunately, several students had to return to their schools despite a holiday.

Information Department officer Khader Shah, speaking to Newskarnataka said, ” After discussing the issue with the DC, a police complaint will be lodged against those who have morphed the government order.”
