Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra informed that the district is having sufficient oxygen facility and beds in the district.
Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, April 27, DC said, “In the district, there are 4,032 active cases, 783 of which are hospitalized and 3,249 of which are in home isolation, with 748 deaths so far. In the district, there are no shortages of beds or oxygen. In the next two days, we’ll release an app with detailed details about the beds that are open. The central control room can be contacted by those who need beds. We have three-day vaccines on hand, and the government has promised to replenish our vaccine supply.”
DC informed that “The fresh guidelines have been issued for 14 days up till 6 am on May 12. Purchase of essentials is allowed from 6 am to 10 am. No form of transportation will be allowed to operate except flights and trains. Taxi, cabs are also restricted. Schools and colleges are not allowed to function and the students should not be forced to leave hostels.
“Hotels can only provide takeaway services. Inter-district travel is restricted, there should be a genuine reason to travel or the right document should be produced. Salons, beauty parlors are closed. Wedding programmes can only have 50 people while cremation or funerals can have only five people” he added.
With regard to the Someshwara temple, he said “The temple authorities were warned by the assistant commissioner not to break Covid rules. Despite the fact that a lawsuit under the Epidemic Act had been filed previously, a huge crowd gathered on April 26. The temple administration will be charged under different parts of the Indian Penal Code, and the police will be directed to file a charge sheet.”
