Mangaluru: The dreaded Covid-19 has entered Ullal police station, with a sub-inspector attached to Ullal police station testing positive for Covid-19.
According to the sources, the sub-inspector was tested positive on Wednesday and was immediately shifted to Covid Wenlock Hospital.
Meanwhile, as precautionary measure, the Ullal police station has been sealed down and contact tracing is on.
It is the second incident in the district where police personnel has been tested positive.
It can be noted that a 42-year-old police constable attached to Vittal police station in Bantwal Taluk of the district had been tested positive, about a month ago.
Meanwhile, a total of 12 persons have tested positive for Covid-19 in Dakshina Kannada district today, June 24.
With these fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 cases has reached to 465 in Dakshina Kannada district.
Among the 12 persons who tested positive for the disease today, four had come from abroad, seven cases are related to Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) and one case is pertaining to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).
