Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district private bus operators have stated that they will decide whether or not to start their services based on their meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office tomorrow.
A meeting will be held at the DC’s office on Tuesday, May 19, wherein the private bus operators are likely to put forth their demands like waiver of road taxes for six months, revision of bus rates (pending since 2013), compensation of Rs 5,000 for all bus workers etc.
Bus operators association district president Dilraj Alva told the media that a decision to operate the buses will be taken only if their demands are met. “A meeting will be held on Tuesday, where we will put forth our demands,” he said.
Meanwhile, KSRTC buses will start operations from tomorrow. According to sources, a total of 35 buses will start operation from the Mangaluru and Puttur depots.
