As Deputy Commissioner of Excise has allowed liquor sale in all CL-2 and CL-11C outlets owned by Mysuru Sales International Ltd (MSIL), there was beeline outside all liquor shops on Monday.
When the sale of liquor ended at around 7 pm, a total of 65,751 litres of liquor and 43,583 beer was sold.
There are 419 CL2 wineshops and 171 CL-11 C liquor shops in Dakshina Kannada district.
Social distancing norms were followed at most places and men, women, elderly and youth were seen waiting outside the shops.
However, many have questioned the logic behind opening the liquor shops and not allowing several other commercial set ups to function.
