DK reports 149 new COVID cases, five deaths

Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday, July 21, reported 149 new COVID-19 positive cases and five deaths as a result of the disease.

According to the bulletin released by the district administration, the five deceased are a 81-year-old man from Mangaluru (died on July 20), 51-year-old man from Belthangady (died on July 20), 65-year-old man from Bhatkal (died on July 20), 63-year-old man from Byadagi in Haveri (died on July 20), and a 51-year-old woman from Mangaluru (died on July 20).

Additionally, the bulletin states that there are a total of 3,834 positive cases in the district, of which 2,070 are active.

On a positive note, 127 people were discharged after making a full recovery. So far, 1,675 people have been discharged.

As many as 29,665 samples have been tested so far for COVID-19.
