Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district registered 247 new cases and six COVID-19 deaths, on Tuesday, August 25.
Of the three dead, one is from the Mangaluru taluk, one is from Bantwal, and one is from another district. Comorbidities were found in all of the cases.
The total COVID positive cases stand at 10,778 while 2,323 are active cases.
The district’s total COVID fatality stands at 319.
As many as 218 patients were discharged. Of these, 180 were quarantined at home, 36 were being treated in the hospital, and two were from the COVID care centre.
Among the 247 new cases, 171 are from Mangaluru, 48 are from Bantwal, six are from Puttur, four are from Sullia, 10 are from Belthangady and eight are from other districts, the district health bulletin informed.
As many as 98 of the new cases are symptomatic (62 men and 36 women) while the remaining 149 are asymptomatic (98 men and 51 women).
Of the 247 cases, 85 persons have contact history, 72 have influenza-like illnesses, 11 are SARI patients, 78 are under investigation, and one has a history of domestic travel.
