Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath member Yashavanthi Alva(62) of the Congress party died of cardiac arrest here on Monday.
Alva was representing Gurupura constituency in the Zilla panchayat. Sources said Alva was suffering from cancer and was undergoing treatment for more than a month.
She died of cardiac arrest at a private hospital. Her body was kept for public viewing at her residence near Shivbagh.
She is survived by two daughters and a son.
