Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada District Ex-Servicemen’s Association (DKESA) held a public condolence meet for the CRPF personnel who were killed in a horrific terror attack in Pulwama district in Kashmir, in front of the war memorial, Kadri Hills on Friday, February 15.

After paying candlelight tribute to the departed souls of the brave soldiers, former president of DKESA Nidleguttu Sharath Bhandary said the CRPF personnel were attacked when they had no arms and ammunition as they were returning from their homes after completing their leave. There is no heroism in such an attack. We should be ready to sacrifice anything and everything for the family members of the martyrs and the whole country”, he said.

Former MLC Cap. Ganesh Karnik opined, “Until and unless we do not strike down on the internal forces which promote and support the terrorist activities, we cannot prevent the external attacks. It is the right time to find a permanent solution to the Kashmir issue and take revenge against Pakistan. The entire nation stands with prime minister Narendra Modi to strengthen him to fight back against the evil forces”, he added.

Though retired Brigadier I N Rai paid homage to the martyrs, he could not speak due to sorrow. The people who participated in the meeting were seen with teary eyes while they offered candlelight condolence to the martyrs, holding the National Flag.

Mayor Bhaskar K, former MLA Yogish Bhat, District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai and other leaders like Brijesh Chouta, Dr. Vaman Shenoy among others were present.
