Mangaluru: Sabarimala Protection Action Committee has urged Ayyappa devotees not to offer a single rupee to the offering box of the Sabarimala temple, on Tuesday, November 20.

This request was made during a huge protest meeting organised in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office by Sabarimala Protection Action Committee against the Kerala police for their atrocities against Ayyappa devotees at Sabarimala temple.

Action committee leader Ganesh Poduval termed chief minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan as `Tippu Sultan of Kerala` alleging that he has been directing Kerala police to assault the devotees of Ayyappa. “Those who go to Sabarimala temple should not offer a single rupee to the offering box kept at Sabarimala temple as such offerings are being used to curb the voice of Ayyappa devotees“, he said.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Y Bharath Shetty said, “Hindus are forced to be the soft targets at Kerala and there is no value for the religious sentiments of Hindus in Kerala. Kerala government has deployed thousands of police in order to suppress the voice of Hindus in Sabarimala temple. If the Kerala police would not stop atrocities against Ayyappa devotees in future, lakhs of Hindus are ready to go to Sabarimala temple“, he stressed.

The protesters shouted slogans against the government of Kerala led by Pinarayi Vijayan claiming that communist government did nothing to safeguard the religious sentiments of Hindus. Hindu leaders like Jagadish Shenava, Sharan Pumpwell, M M Prabhu, Radhakrishna Adyanthaya among others were present.
