Mangaluru: Former minister B Ramanath Rai suggested that MLAs of Dakshina Kannada district should take all appropriate measures to check Dengue disease instead of wasting their time in resort politics.
Addressing the reporters at district Congress office on Saturday, July 27 Rai said, ” many people in DK district are suffering from Dengue and receiving treatment in hospitals. Four of them have already lost their life for Dengue in our district. Instead of taking precautionary measures in their respective areas, MLAs are busy in resort politics”.
Responding to a query on what measures were taken by the former minister U T Khader, Rai said, “Khader has done his duty despite BJP leaders trying to destabilise the coalition government. But, MLA’s of other taluks did not take any measures to curb the disease.”
District Congress president and MLA Hareesh Kumar, former mayor Shashidhar Hegde, district women’s congress president Shalet Pinto among others were present.
