Belthangady: The 52nd coronation anniversary of Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshethra Dharmasthala will be held on Thursday, October 24 at the temple premises.
According to the press statement, the coronation anniversary programme will be presided over by the state home minister Basavaraj Bommai. MLA Harish Poonja, MLC Harish Kumar are invited as guests of the programme.
On October 24 morning, fancy dress competition will be held at Amruthavarshini Hall and in the evening the formal function will include Pratibha Puraskar, felicitation of senior staff of Sri Kshetra, flagging off of new programmes by Dr Veerendra Heggade.
It can be recalled that Dr Veerendra Heggade had decorated the chair of the ‘Dharmadhikari’ at the age of 20, on October 24, 1968.
In his five-decade-tenure, Dr Heggade has implemented several social welfare schemes and changed the face of the region.
