Mangaluru: In a recent operation conducted by Mangaluru CCB Police, three drug peddlers involved in the sale of MDMA (Methylene dioxy methamphetamine), commonly known as “Ecstasy,” were apprehended. The operation took place in the vicinity of Tachanipadi-Devipura Road, Ullal Taluk, where the suspects were found selling the prohibited substance purchased from Bangalore in a Maruti Swift car.
The arrested individuals are identified as Mohammad Hafeez from Halekote, Amir from Sajip-Munnur Grama, and Jaqueer Husain from Panemangalore Dasa Gudde. Police have seized 200 grams of MDMA worth Rs. 10,00,000/-, an EndiemE tablet, a Maruti Swift car valued at Rs. 1,70,000, three mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia with a total value of approximately Rs. 5,70,500.
The arrested suspects are also linked to other criminal activities, including the infamous Shrimati Shetty murder case, two bike theft cases in Mangaluru South, and robbery cases in Shirva and Padubidri. They are now facing multiple charges, and some of them are yet to appear in court after being granted bail.
Among the accused, Mohammed Hafeez is wanted by the Mulki Police Station for his involvement in the Shrimati Shetty murder case and three other robbery cases. He is also wanted by the Bajpe Police Station for drug peddling, Mangaluru South for two bike theft cases, and Shirva and Padubidri for robbery cases. In total, he is facing eight criminal charges and had obtained bail from the court but failed to appear for the hearings. As a result, a warrant has been issued against him, and he is considered a fugitive.
During the drug peddling investigation, the CCB team led by Inspector Shyam Sundar H.E, PSI Raghendra B, PSI Sudheep H, ASI Sharanappa Bhandari, and SI Sibbandi coordinated the operation with precision and successfully apprehended the suspects.
