Drug peddling: CCB, Narcotic Crime police arrest two

Mangaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police and Economic and Narcotics Crime Police arrested two persons in connection with drug peddling and seized banned drugs, weighing machine, motorcycle and mobile phone from their possession.

The arrested have been identified as Jawed (28), son of Hussain, a resident of Nettarakere, Bantwal and Shan Nawaz (33), son of Ilyas, a resident of Thokkottu. According to the police sources, they received a credible information of drug peddling near PVS Circle on Saturday night. Followed by the information, CCB Inspector Shivaprakash R Naik and Economic and Narcotics Crime Police station Inspector Ramakrishna K rushed to the spot and nabbed the accused, along with the banned MDMA (A synthetic drug that acts as a stimulant and hallucinogen) drugs powder, weighing around 24 gram, weighing machine, motorcycle and mobile phone, total worth Rs 2,20,100.

The accused would be produced before the court, police sources said.
