Mangaluru: An elderly woman from Bantwal passed away after the ambulance in which she was travelling allegedly denied to cross Talapady checkpost.

The deceased has been identified as Pathumi (70).

Pathumi had been to her grand daughter’s house in a village near Kunjathur in Kerala.

As she was suffering from some age related illness she was being rushed to Mangaluru in an ambulance on Saturday evening.

But, the police did not allow to cross Talapady border and she was taken back to Kunjathur, said sources.

Though she was shifted to a private hospital in Kunjathur, she died on Sunday morning.

It can be noted that DK district administration had decided to seal the borders of Kerala and DK district owing to increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.
