Bantwal: While two persons including a three-month-old child died on the spot, five others sustained grievous injuries after a car in which they were traveling ran off road and hit a compound wall near Ukkuda check post here on Monday.
Sulaiman Haji (61), resident of Badiyaru of Kadamba of Vittal and his grandchild Shahaj (three months) died on the spot.
It is said that the entire family was travelling to Punacha to attend birthday party of Sulaiman’s eldest daughter’s child when the incident occurred.
Sulaiman’s wife, brother in-law and two other female relatives and the driver of the car have been injured. Sulaiman, employed abroad had come to India only a week ago.
Vittal police are investigating the case.
