Elections for vacant GP seats on August 28

Mangaluru: The state election commission prepared a time table to conduct elections for all vacant gram panchyath seats across the state. Accordingly, the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada has issued a official notification on August 16.
Poll schedule

Last date for submission of nominations  : August 19

Scrutiny of nominations                            : August 20

Last date for withdrawal                          : August 22

Date of poling, (if need arises)                 : August 28

Counting of votes                                     : August 31

Following seats (11) are vacant in Mangalore taluk

·Beluvai – 4, out of which reserved for women ST -2

·Bajpe – 2 reserved for backward community A

·Badaga Ullipadi (Gurpura)– backward community ‘A’-1

·Mallur – reseved for woman  ST -1

·Mallur – reserved for woman SC-2

·Adyar – reserved for backward community ‘A’-1

Interested candidates can submit their nominations to jurisdictional election officers at the respective gram panchayaths, according to the release form the Tahsildar’s office.
