Kadaba: In yet another case of conflict between humans and animals, six passengers of an Omni vehicle suffered injuries after the car was attacked by an elephant.

The incident took place near Bilenele, on the Uppinangady-Subrahmanya State Highway here. Girish, a Chikkamagaluru resident was traveling with his family towards Subramanya when he noticed a wild elephant crossing the road and stopped his vehicle very close to the elephant. Probably annoyed by the human presence, the elephant attacked the car injuring the passengers inside.

To the victims’ luck, a bus passing along the same route noticed the danger that the car’s occupants were in and started honking loudly, thereby forcing the elephant to retreat into the woods.
