Mangaluru: A team of doctors that was constituted to find the source of the Covid-19 spread at First Neuro Hospital in Padil have sought additional time to file their final report in this regard.
Though today was the deadline for the team to furnish their report regarding the source of the spread of Covid-19 at the First Neuro Hospital, it sought more time as they were still waiting for the test reports of the Kerala-based patients who had visited the Hospital for treatment over the days.
District Health Officer Dr Ramachandra Bayari informed that they had collected over 1,000 throat swabs from those who came contact with the First Neuro Hospital. “As the Kerala-based patients had also received treatment there, we need to collect the throat swabs of them and get the result. We are in the process of communicating with the Kerala government in this regard,” he said.
District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary informed the medical experts that finding the source of the Covid-19 spread in First Neuro Hospital is key as the people are worried. “In order to clear their confusion, a precise report should be submitted soon,” he said.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Dr Y Bharath Shetty, D Vedavyas Kamath, Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, ZP CEO Dr Selvamani R, district in-charge secretary Ponnuraj and medical experts were present at the meeting.
