Mangaluru: The Supreme Court has issued guidelines for the public to control the sale and utilization of firecrackers during Diwali, Tulsi Puja, and Christmas. The court has directed that, in accordance with the high court’s ruling, only green crackers should be employed within the municipal limits of Manapa.
In accordance with the high court’s ruling, firecrackers are permitted to be ignited only between 8 pm and 10 pm on festival occasions. Firecrackers should not be used outside of this designated timeframe. It is crucial to exercise caution and consider the well-being of animals, birds, children, and the elderly while celebrating with firecrackers. The Manapa deputy commissioner has specified that no local hospital or educational institution is allowed to ignite or sell firecrackers in proximity to restricted areas.
In compliance with the high court’s directive, it is mandated to utilize eco-friendly green crackers exclusively during festive occasions. These environmentally friendly firecrackers will bear a green crackers symbol and include a QR code. The Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of the Municipal Corporation conveyed this information in a statement.
