First hanging bridge of district connecting M’luru-Bantwal taluk inaugurated

Mangaluru: The first handing bridge connecting two taluks in Dakshina Kannada district was inaugurated by District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai on Aug 11 at Muttur near Ganjimath.

The rare handing bridge developed in association with the coastal development authority connects Mangaluru north taluk on one side and Badagabellur Panchayath of Bantwal taluk on the other.

Badagabellur villagers will be greatly benefit from the new bridge as the distance to the district headquarters will be reduced. Hanging bridge expert, Girish from Sullia is behind the design and development of the new bridge across river Phalguni. Girish has executed many such projects in the past.

Coastal development authority president Nivedith Alva, MLA Moideen Bava,ZP Preisednt Meenakshi Shanthigodu,Muttur GP president Jayanthi , Badagabellur GP president Nagamma were present on the occasion.
