Five arrested for moral policing released on station bail

Mangaluru: Five persons arrested in the case of moral policing have been released on station bail.

The incident that was held here near Surathkal toll gate in the outskirts of the City on late Sunday September 26 evening came to light when video with regard to the incident went viral.

The five arrested are Preetham Shetty, Arshith, Srinivas, Rakesh and Abhishek.

It is alleged that despite police requesting the five persons not to indulge in the violent act, the persons continued the act, and attacked the vehicle wherein students from different communities belonging to a private medical college of Derlakatte of the City were travelling.

The police have lodged a case against the five under Indian Penal Code Section 341, 323, and 504.
