Floating concrete jetty to come up in Mangaluru: MLA D Vedavyas Kamath

Mangaluru: Mangaluru South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath informed that there is a plan to build a floating concrete jetty at fishing harbour.

After visiting fishing harbour on Sunday, October 6 Kamath said that the jetty will be 60 meters long and 6 meters wide,  weighing about 180 tonnes. Besides this,  the jetty will be capable of carrying 360 tonnes of load easily. A layer of rubber will be laid around the jetty to prevent damage to the boats.

He also informed that the project proposal has already been submitted to the government and the work will commence soon after receiving approval from the government.

Jetty Designer Milindar Prabhu, Amul, fishermen leaders like Nitin Kumar, Rajesh Ullal, Mohan Bengre, Nitin Bangera, Ibrahim Bengre, Sandeep Ullal, Naveen and BJP leaders Sanjay Prabhu, Premananda Shetty among others were present.
