Moodabidri: A well at Ontikatte Neerapalke is hitting headlines for wrong reasons over the last one week. After a young woman tried to end life by plunging into the said well last Sunday, on Tuesday a foetus was found dumped in the very same well.
However, the locals are now linking the two incidents. They say that the lady who tried to end life was unmarried and was expecting a child outside marriage. She had come to Neerapalke to live with her sister and had plunged into the well to end life, but had later clung on to a pipe and raised alarm. The locals had rescued her and she was sent to District Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru as she was bleeding profusely.
Moodabidri police have registered a case.
