Mangaluru: While a prison sentence is usually seen as a punishment, the many images that have emerged recently from Benagluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison and Belagavi jail reflect that jail time maybe a party time for few.
The latest to join this gang of party dens is Mangaluru District Prison which has often hogged the headlines for smuggling of unauthorised goods inside the jail premises including few jail break incidents.
However, while it is not shocking to know that jail inmates have a merry time by bribing few officials to obtain liquor or hotel food it was surprising to find images of their party going viral in the social media.
Inmates can be seen consuming liquor and food, definitely not the jail stuff in the photos as they sit in a round circle posing and taking selfies with their illegally possessed mobile phones.
In the wake of the media often reporting instance of ganja, phones and in few cases weapons too being found at the jail, officials had reportedly upped their vigil to stop smuggling of the unauthorized goods inside the jail. However the question that arises is from where the inmates got the phones as well as the liquor without the help of officials.
