Mangaluru: Congress leader and former MLC Ivan D’Souza and his wife, Dr Kavitha have tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection.
Confirming the same on his social media, the Congress leader wrote that even though he or his wife didn’t show any symptoms, they voluntarily provided their samples for testing.
It can be recalled that Ivan took part in a party meeting in the city on July 31 at the Congress Bhavan. The meeting was also attended by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar. The next day, on August 1, Ivan also visited senior Congress leader Vijay Kumar Shetty along with Mangaluru MLA UT Khader and the KPCC chief.
“Myself and my wife Dr.Kavitha have been tested Corana positive.There are no symptoms but we have voluntarily gone and given our samples and tested.There is no anxiety or concern,” the Congress leader wrote on his Facebook wall.
He then requested his friends and well-wishers not to visit them, but keep them in their prayers.
“Your prayers,blessings and good wishes are our strength,” he added.
